26 September, 13:00 - 14:30
Willis Tower Watson, 51 Lime Street, London, EC3M 7DQ, London, United Kingdom
In 2005, Martine Wright’s life changed forever when she lost both of her legs in the London underground bombings of 7/7. She was, in fact, the last person to be brought out alive from the atrocities. Martine lost 80 percent of her blood, was in a coma for seven days and underwent months of surgery.
Martine will share the highs and lows of how she adjusted to life post 7/7, and how the actions of individuals and organisations around her helped her to turn trauma and tragedy into hope. Martine will talk about how her life has changed for the better, and how she emerged from unimaginable adversity to change her own life, and encourage others to better their own performance and reach new goals.
