To ensure we build truly diverse teams we need to embrace social mobility and tap into the rich pool of talent that exists across our country. It’s important that firms prioritise social mobility to help remove the barriers holding back the best and brightest in our society. Giving young people an opportunity to experience the work environment and helping them gain skills can boost their career prospects and open up a wide pool of talent for businesses. Changing recruitment behaviours such as going to the same universities and looking for the same qualifications can immediately disenfranchise those who have not had the best start in life. In this session, we’ll look at what firms can do to challenge the status quo and give real examples of what employers are doing right now!
