After studying agriculture at Reading University in the UK, Duncan’s early career was spent in Papua New Guinea where he managed plantations. A road accident in the PNG highlands in 1984 resulted in him being flown to Sydney’s RNSH spinal unit as a C 4/5 quadriplegic. On escaping from a year in hospital he switched to the emerging IT industry. Since then he has owned and managed a successful digital media agency progressing from print to multimedia and the internet as the communication revolution advanced. Duncan joined SpinalCure Australia as CEO in 2011 and was elected to the Board in 2016. SpinalCure fund and promote medical research with the aim of finding a cure for spinal cord injury.
