Marcia Scheiner is the founder and President of the Asperger Syndrome Training & Employment Partnership (ASTEP). Prior to founding ASTEP in 2010, Ms. Scheiner spent 25 years in the financial services industry, most recently as CEO of Centrally Managed Businesses for Zurich Financial Services, Zurich’s global discontinued operations. Prior to joining Zurich, Ms. Scheiner was Managing Director, Structured Products, in Chase Manhattan Bank’s Global Trust Services Division and a Managing Director at Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, responsible for their U.S. asset securitization business. In her role as President of ASTEP, Ms. Scheiner has spoken at numerous Diversity & Inclusion conferences about neurodiversity in the workplace. Ms. Scheiner is a graduate of Wellesley College and has an MBA from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business. She is also the parent of a young adult son with Asperger Syndrome. ASTEP is a non-profit whose mission to improve the quality of life for individuals with Asperger Syndrome and similar autism spectrum profiles through suitable and sustainable employment. ASTEP educates corporations to be exceptional employers of college educated individuals with autism and increases employer diversity by providing them access to a highly skilled and loyal, yet untapped, talent pool of individuals on the spectrum.
