Senior Program Manager, Pride in Diversity & Pride in Sport

Ross Wetherbee is Senior Program Manager of Pride in Diversity, Australia’s national not-for-profit employer support program for all aspects of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (LGBTI) workplace inclusion and the developers of the Australian Workplace Equality Index (AWEI). Pride in Diversity is a social inclusion initiative of ACON, Australia’s largest LGBTI health organisation.

Ross manages the operations of the Pride in Diversity program while leading a talented and committed team of Workplace Education & Relationship Managers with experience in Human Resources, Organisational Development & Learning and Diversity & Inclusion across all major industries and sectors.

Ross is also responsible for the development, launch and operations of Pride in Sport, a tailored initiative of Pride in Diversity and ACON which supports the inclusion of LGBTI staff, players, volunteers, coaches and spectators in Australian sport, and the Pride in Sport Index (PSI) – Australia’s definitive national benchmarking instrument for LGBTI inclusion in Australian sport, which, at the National and State Sporting Organisation level, are both world firsts.

Prior to Ross’ current role, as a Workplace Education & Relationship Manager he oversaw the LGBTI inclusion activities of member organisations within the Public Service (federal, state & local), Higher Education, Healthcare, Mining Resources and Energy, National Sporting Organisations and Not-for-profit & Community portfolios.

Before joining Pride In Diversity in 2014, Ross spent five years as a Global Talent Consultant at Macquarie Group Limited, and also lead Macquarie’s LGBTI Employee Network, overseeing strategy, inclusion training, AWEI submission and external engagement. Ross has in-house experience in HR, Organisational Development & Learning and Diversity & Inclusion across Banking, Insurance & Financial Services and Telecommunications. Ross has a passion for developing engaged, high-performing and inclusive organisational cultures that see individuals, teams and organisations grow and develop.

Ross speaks and consults nationally and internationally on all aspects of LGBTI workplace inclusion. Ross is available to speak at internal, and external events or conferences.
