ASSET Speed Mentoring
26 September, 17:00 - 19:30
Zurich Insurance, 70 Mark Lane, London EC3R 7NQ, London, United Kingdom
The speed networking and mentoring event has been designed to allow Apprentices in the industry to form connections and develop their networks with a variety of stakeholders from across the industry. In doing so, we hope to provide a platform to inspire and equip them with the skills necessary to carve a meaningful career within the Insurance sector.
At their core, ASSET is a network founded by apprentices, for apprentices. They feel that it is important to target new entrants to the industry and present them with the opportunity to build their network skills, which will enable them to lead fuller and more rewarding careers.
Having attended speed mentoring events themselves, ASSET can testify that – when done well – sessions like these can present some real opportunities to form long-term relationships with knowledgeable and useful contacts from around the industry. Due to the nature of the insurance market, having a network to draw upon is vital for career growth, as well as delivering results within roles by harnessing the experience and knowledge available to them via these connections.
With regards to the senior speakers –their experience and success in the industry is a testament to their hard work, technical and emotional intelligence which sets them in excellent stead to speak to young professionals regarding mentoring, networking and career advice.
Dominic Christian is a huge believer in apprentices and invests time into them as is shown via his backing of ASSET. Likewise, Vinicio Cellerini, having come from an apprenticeship background himself, appreciates apprenticeship programs and has been extremely supportive of ASSET labelling it a ‘huge achievement’ and a ‘great opportunity for all new members in the insurance industry’.
To build upon communication/networking skills and to provide apprentices with the means to pursue a fruitful long-term mentorship. For the mentors, we hope they find the experience rewarding and enable them to continue supporting the development of young talent / apprentices.
